A mental health activist with a lived experience of using mental health services both in the UK and Uganda, stretching over two & a half decades. Eddie is a banker by training and a member of the Uganda Institute of Banking and Financial Services. He however chose to pursue mental health activism as a peer support worker to give back to his community. He has helped in setting up a number of mental health organizations that include: Heartsounds Uganda where he first worked as Head of Finance and Administration and later on as the National Coordinator, Butabika Recovery College (the first of its kind in Africa) where he was a Project Finance Officer and Coordinator of the Recovery College and of late in his current position as CEO and Chairman of Peer Nation a Mental Health user-led and user-managed NGO. Besides this Eddie is a father to a teenage daughter, two sons and is happily married to one wife.
